First Coast Cardiovascular Institute has cared for people across Northeast Florida since 2002, with offices in Duval, Clay, St. Johns, Putnam and Ware counties. Its board-certified physicians stay at the forefront of treatment, and the practice holds seven accreditations in the cardiovascular field. FCCI's accredited Non-Invasive Vascular Lab is the only lab in Jacksonville solely dedicated to vascular testing. It checks arteries in the legs, neck, kidneys and belly, plus veins for clots and valve problems, and dialysis fistulas and grafts.
What does a vascular doctor treat?
Problems with arteries and veins outside the heart, such as PAD, poor circulation, non-healing wounds, carotid disease, aneurysms, blood clots and dialysis access.
What is PAD?
Peripheral artery disease is plaque narrowing the arteries to your legs and feet, which reduces blood flow.
What tests check leg circulation?
A peripheral arterial duplex scan and a lower extremity physiologic study at FCCI's accredited vascular lab.
Are procedures done in a hospital?
Many are done in FCCI's accredited outpatient cath labs in Jacksonville and Palatka. Most need only a tiny incision in the wrist or groin.
How long is recovery after a cath lab procedure?
Procedures last 1 to 3 hours, and you recover in a private room for 1 to 5 hours depending on complexity.
Does FCCI take Medicare?
Yes, along with many other plans.
